have you ever noticed that once in a while an unusual word will suddenly be in tons of popular songs? currently, several songs have the word lollipop in them. the word lollipop hasn't been used since the 50s (lollipop, lollipop, oh, lolli-lollipop), and now several pop songs in the past year have included the word.
this makes me wonder.
is there some sort of annual songwriting convention that takes place, where they say: okay, here is your word for the year. if you incorporate this word into a song and it makes the top 20, you'll get a million dollar bonus.
anybody have any insider information on this? anyone, anyone?
